History
In the
Heartland/South Central Region of Florida,
Hendry County was formed in 1923 from
Lee County. Its county seat, LaBelle, is on
FL-80 about 100 miles northwest of Miami and 25 miles east of Fort Myers. Hendry is bordered by the
counties of Glades, Palm Beach,
Broward, Collier and
Lee.
