Martin County
History
On the Atlantic
coast in the Southeast/Gold Coast Region of Florida,
Martin County was formed in 1925 from
Palm Beach and Saint Lucie
counties. Its county seat,
Stuart, is on
US-1 about 35 miles north of West Palm Beach. Martin is bordered by the
Atlantic Ocean and the counties of Okeechobee,
Palm Beach and
Saint Lucie.
