Forsyth County

History

In the Piedmont Region of Georgia as well as part of the modern Atlanta metro area, Forsyth County was formed in 1832 from Cherokee County. Its county seat, Cumming, is on GA-400 about 40 miles NNE of Atlanta. Forsyth is bordered by the counties of Dawson, Hall, Gwinnett, Fulton, and Cherokee.
