History
In the Lower Coastal Plains Region of Georgia,
Jeff Davis County was formed in 1905 from Appling
and Coffee Counties. Its county seat,
Hazlehurst, is on
US-341 about 185 miles southeast of Atlanta and 100 miles west of Savannah. Jeff Davis is bordered by the counties of
Telfair, Wheeler,
Montgomery, Toombs,
Appling, Bacon and
Coffee.
