Allen County
History
In northeastern Indiana,
Allen County was formed in 1824 from the Delaware
New Purchase and from unorganized land. Its county seat, Fort Wayne, is on
I-69 about 100 miles northeast of
Indianapolis. Allen is bordered by the Indiana counties of
DeKalb, Noble, Whitley, Huntington, Wells and Adams, as well as by Paulding Co.,
OH.
