In southwestern
Indiana,
Martin County was formed in 1820 from Davies and
Dubois Counties. Its county seat, Shoals, is on
US-50 about 100 miles southwest of
Indianapolis. Martin is bordered by the counties of
Greene, Lawrence, Orange, Dubois and Davies.
