Jessamine County
History
In the heart of the
Bluegrass Region and near the center of Kentucky,
Jessamine County was formed in 1798 from
Fayette County. Its county seat,
Nicholasville, is on
US-27 about 12 miles SSW of Lexington. Jessamine is bordered by the counties of
Fayette, Madison, Garrard,
Mercer and Woodford.
