History

In the Plantation region of eastern Louisiana and formerly part of Florida, Livingston Parish was formed in 1832 from St. Helena Parish. Its parish seat, Livingston, is on I-12 about 25 miles east of Baton Rouge. Livingston Parish is bordered by the parishes of Ascension, East Baton Rouge, St. Helena and Tangipahoa; and by Lake Maurepas.
