St. Charles Parish

History

In the Plantation region of eastern Louisiana, St. Charles Parish was formed in 1807 as an original parish. Its parish seat, Hahnville, is on I-310 about 25 miles west of New Orleans. St. Charles is bordered by the parishes of Jefferson, Lafourche and St. John the Baptist; and by Lake Ponchartrain.
