Culpepper HistoryThis tall Tudor manor house was acquired by Francis Culpeper, Esq.11 in 1590. Francis was the second son of a direct ancestor of the modern-day Culpeppers: William Culpeper, Esq.10 of Lossenham and Wigsell. Francis was succeeded to this manor by his son, Sir Thomas Culpepper12.

Hollingbourne ManorHollingbourne Manor, the famous home of a prominent
Kentish family, the Culpeppers, is a Grade 1 listed Elizabethan manor
house. It is situated in the charming village of
Hollingbourne at the foot of the North Downs, with its cluster of period
properties, public houses, post office and newsagent. Hollingbourne
railway station is about a third of a mile away with services to London
(Victoria), and Hollingbourne County Primary School is also a short
distance away. The County town of Maidstone is about 5 miles and offers an
excellent shopping centre, schools, leisure amenities and 2 mainline
railway stations. Historic Leeds Castle is about 2 miles away and pleasant
walks and riding can be enjoyed through the surrounding countryside with
the property being only a short distance from the Pilgrims Way. Junction 8
of the M20 is about 1-1/2miles away, giving access to London ( about 42
miles), Ashford (about 13 miles) and the Channel Tunnel Terminal (about 28
miles), whilst also linking up with the M25 Orbital around London.
