he was quite a painter. He signed all of his paintings with the name
'Cully'. I knew him well and he was quite a character. If you come
across some of the paintings I would love to get them back with the

Ralph Harold Culpepper,
Jr. (#3945) Sold many paintings in France following WW-II.
They were signed R. Culpepper or Ralph Culpepper.
Shirley
Culpepper Brooks identified this painter as her uncle and went on to
say: " Ralph left the United States in 1948 to study art in France on
the GI Bill of Rights. He never again lived in the United States, and
only returned to visit twice before his death. He had tickets for his
next visit when he died from a sudden heart attack. His two brothers
Bill and Warren went to Paris, France where he was buried. I met
Uncle Ralph when he came home that first time in the mid 1980's. He
was a kind, gentle man..." |

Unknown Culpepper: Oil on Canvas.
"I found an
abstract oil on canvas that is really disturbing in the genre of
Dali or Picasso. I know nothing about it but that it is in a box
frame and measures 30x23 inches. Looks like a city in the background
with fires(?) in the front and two faces are stuck in there
randomly. Very well done. Signed Culpepper in right corner."
