| Culpepper Ancestry: Jonathan is the son of Catherine
Culpeper, whose husband, Robert Williams, adopted the name
Culpeper-Williams, as Catherine's father, Philip Nicholas Colepeper,
originally of South Africa and who settled in England after WW-II,
had no male children. Note that they reverted to the spelling
Culpeper and subsequently the Williams suffix was dropped
altogether. Philip, who is buried in the churchyard outside
Hollingbourne church in England, is the son of George Kopper
Colepeper who was born in Barbados in 1862 and later moved to South
Africa. George' Kopper's lineage can be traced in Barbados back to
the Rev. William Culpeper (born 1605 in England and died 1674 in
Barbados) and his wife, Margaret Alleyne. |
