Daniel English Culpepper 17, of Plantation, was awarded the National Defense Committee ROTC Medal at a Memorial Day service of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Regent Zoe Anne Leach White of the Henry Morrison Flagler Chapter of the DAR presented the medal at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Palm Beach.

Culpepper was presented with a signed poster of the poem Beyond the Wall, which she authored for the memorial.

Daniel, the son of Alyce and Lee Culpepper of Plantation, is an S5 officer in charge of community awareness at South Plantation High School and is the unit photographer, keeper of the scrapbook and editor of the JROTC videos.
