Allen Ross Culpepper, Captain, US Army. Of the Lemuel Culpepper line, Allen is the son of Steve C. Culpepper, and the brother of Douglas O. Culpepper. He is the only Culpepper on the Viet Nam Memorial Wall (Panel 24W, Row 039), and thus the only one who died as a result of the Viet Nam war. He was born 21 Jul 1944. In 1966, he graduated from West Point, and began his Viet Nam tour on 24 Sep 1968. On 18 May 1969, at Long Khanh, South Viet Nam, Allen was killed in ground combat by enemy artillery. Dan Mack CulpepperDan Mack Culpepper, son of James Morgan Culpepper and first cousin of Viet Nam vet Samie Dwight Culpepper, was born September 1935 and raised in Pine Bluff, Jefferson Co., AR. He served 22 years in the US Army, Field Artillery. Enlisted 1953, with basic training at Fort Sill, OK.   Served in West Germany, 1954-56;  US Army Reserve, 1956-58;  Korea, 1958-59;  Fort Carson, CO and Crailsheim, West Germany, 1959-62;  Fort Lewis, WA, 1962-65;  Korea, 1965-66;  Hanau, West Germany, 1966-68;  101st Airborne, South Vietnam, 1968-69;  Fort Sill, OK, 1969-72;  South Korea, 1972-73;  Fort Lewis, WA, 1973 until retirement as Sergeant First Class on 31 May 1975. Decorations, Medals And Awards:  National Defense Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Europen Occupation Medal, Korean Occupation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, four Good Conduct Medals, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60 Dev, Two O/S Bars. David Allen Culpepper, son of Charles Aldon and Dorothy Yon Culpepper, served in the Vietnam war as a member of the U.S. Navy. (1972) He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Medal with palm frond.  His rank was  E-4 (Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class)

Dennis Leroy Culpepper, Jr., son of Dennis Leroy and Roberta Diane Blaikie Culpepper of Virginia, and grandson of Dennis Elisha Culpepper, retired as a Senior Master Seargent from the Air Force in 1976 after serving two terms in Viet Nam. (Source: his daughters, Kara L. and Lisa Lee Culpepper)

Douglas Eugene Culpepper, son of Otto Lee Culpepper and Eleanor Eliza Pratt.  Served in the USMC  from 1942 to 1969. Retired as a Sergeant Major.

Jeffrey Edgar Culpepper, son of Lloyd Benson and Madolyn Redline Culpepper. Served in U.S. Marine Corps. 15 Jun 1967: Boot training at Parris Island and Camp Lejeune for infantry training. 19 Nov 1967: Arrived at Viet Nam  and assigned to 1st Battalion, 26th Marine Regiment stationed at Khe Sanh where he served through a seige. 14 Feb 1968: Wounded by shrapnel from mortars inside Khe Sanh base. 30 Mar 1968: Wounded by a hand grenade while assaulting NVA positions south of Khe Sanh, and medivacted back to the states to Bethesda Naval Hospital. 1 Jul 1969: Discharged at Camp Lejuene, NC. Decorations: National Defense Medal, Viet Nam Occupation and Campaign, Combat Action, Presidential Citation Awarded to the 1st Battalion 26th Marines, 2 Purple Hearts and Good Conduct Medal. Johnny Culpepper, Sergeant E-5, US Army, Son of William and Hattie Woodson Culpepper from Cumberland, Virginia. Served from 1964-1967 in the 41st Signal Battalion and 1st Signal Brigade. Served two terms in Vietnam. Received The National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Honorably Discharged In 1967. (Source: Johnny Culpepper)

Maxcell Fred Culpepper, son of Excell Culpepper and Eva Marie Harris, born 1943. Drafted 10 Jan 1963; served in Signal Corps in Druex, France; released from active duty Jan 1965. Attend University of Tennessee at Martin; graduated June 1969. Reenlisted US Army Aug 1970 in Military Intelligence. Served in Vietnam Oct 1971 – Mar 1973. Released from active duty May 1973; served in United States Reserve until Mobilized after 911. Served 12 months under the mobilization Noble Eagle, 5 Jan 2002 thru 5 Jan 2003. Retired from the USAR after 40 years of service on 19 April 2003. Living in Sewanee, Tennessee after retiring as Postmaster from the US Postal Service. Olin P. Culpepper, son of Samuel Olin and Zelma E. King, entered the Air Force on 7 Feb 1968.  Attended Morse Intercept School and finished top in the class. Transferred to the Personnel Career Field because of humanitarian reasons.  Stationed at Keesler AFB MS in 1968-71; Eglin AFB FL in 1971-72; Eielson AFB AK in 1972-74; Keesler AFB MS as a Military Training instructor in 1974-78; Cullman AL as a Enlisted Recruiter in 1980-83; Maxwell AFB AL as Engineer Recruiter in 1983-86, and as Flight Supervisor for the 3331st Recruiting Sq. Engineering Recruiting Team in 1983-87; Robins AFB GA as NCOIC CBPO in 1987, 2955th Combat Logistics Support Squadron Administration Chief and Acting First Sergeant in 1988-1990, and Deputy Director of Family Support Center in 1990, serving in numerous positions including the Battle Staff during the Gulf War. Oren Ray Culpepper, born 1936, son of Jessie Earl and Edna Rice Culpepper, served in the US Army from 1958 to 1977 as an Infantry officer. Tours of duty included Germany, Korea and two tours in Vietnam.

Served in US Army Apr 1968 - Nov 1969. Training at Fort Knox, KY. Served in Vietnam Nov 1968 - Nov 1969. Assigned to the Americal Combat Center, Americal Division, Chu Lai Vietnam. Robert Eugene Culpepper, served in the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1976. He says he was never actually in Viet Nam waters, and the Service would neither confirm or deny if his ship was there. Onboard a nuclear-powered Ballistic Missile submarine, USS John Adams SSBN 620 (GOLD), from 1971 to 1973. Berthed on the USS Salmon SS 573 prior to the John Adams. Son of WW-II and Korea veteran Carlton Milburn Culpepper and Eleanor Louise Hart.

Ronald Anthony Culpepper, son of Henry Bryant Culpepper (WW-II Vet), served in the US Navy from June 1970 to June 1976. Attained rank of E-5 as an Electronics Technician. Participated in Operation Frequent Wind (Spring of 1975) while aboard the amphibious cargo ship USS Durham, LKA-114. Steven F. Culpepper, US Navy, E-3 petty officer. Son of James Trevor Culpepper of the William Culpepper line.  From 1967 thru Mid-1969, he had three separate tours of duty in the Gulf of Tonkin, all aboard the USS Hornet, CVS-12, as an aviation boatswain's mate, pushing aircraft around the hanger deck. In the summer of 1969, although not a part of the actual recovery team, he served in the hanger deck division that picked up the Apollo 11 astronauts (the first moon landing). Later that Fall, they also picked up the Apollo 12 crew. The USS Hornet was decommissioned in the Spring of 1970 and Steve ended his active enlistment in June of that year. (Source: Steven F.
