| Obituary* | EVELYN CULPEPPER WELLS Retired Services for Evelyn "Tunie" Culpepper Wells will be held today at 7 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jason Bird and Ed Rickles officiating. Burial will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in Big Rock Methodist Church Cemetery in Wayne County. Mrs. Wells, 77, of Meridian, died Thursday, May 23, 2002, at The Specialty Hospital of Meridian. She was a member of 15th Avenue Baptist Church and the Beacon Sunday School Class. She was a retired bookkeeper for McElroy Plumbing Co. Survivors include her husband, Dudley Wells of Meridian; a daughter, Linda Cushing and her husband, Jack, of Anderson, S.C; a son, Cecil Lamar Jones Jr., of Meridian; three granddaughters, Julia Woods and her husband, Roger, of Greer, S.C., Christina Walker and her husband, John, of Pelzer, S.C., and Jennifer Laws and her husband, Alan, of Birmingham, Ala; a grandson, John Cushing Jr., and his wife, Leigh, of Carry, N.C; two great-grandsons, Brody Laws and Dawson Walker; a sister, Doris Glisson of Meridian; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Culpepper. The family requests memorials be made to the American Lung Association. Pallbearers will be Joe Chambers, Blair Baxter, Ron Baxter, Robert Scarbrough, Roger Woods, John Cushing and Ed Rickles. Honorary pallbearers will be the Jo Chamber Sunday School Class.1 |
