| Biography* | Obituary: Dr. Moley Daniel Culpepper, a Chester (SC) veterinarian for more than 40 years, died Tuesday. He was 67. In his private practice, the Center Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Culpepper had handled small and large animals, but had worked mostly with smaller animals in recent years, said his son, John Culpepper. Dr. Culpepper, of Center Road, had practiced in Chester since 1947, and had recently been in semi-retirement, his son said. He died at Providence Hospital in Columbia. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Chester ARP Church, with the Rev. Dr. Dwight Pearson officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens. Dr. Culpepper was born in Cusseta, Ga. He graduated from Auburn University, and was a member of the South Carolina Association of Veterinarians and the American Veterinary Medical Association. He served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion and Chester ARP Church. Surviving are three sons, Ira Daniel Culpepper of Lexington, John Bain Culpepper of Los Angeles and Bernard Myron Culpepper of Chester; his daughter, Camilla Culpepper Thompson of Douglasville, Ga; his brother, Morgan Culpepper of Columbus, Ga; two sisters, Martha Culpepper of Columbus, Ga., and Marjorie Culpepper Greer of Cusseta; and one grandchild. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Barron Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Chester ARP Church, Box 174, Chester, S.C. 29706.
