| Obituary* | 30 Jun 2002 | Obituary of Barbara Austin Fowler, a daughter of Annie Mae Culpepper West: Columbus, GA -- Barbara A. Fowler, 78, of Columbus, died Friday, June 28, 2002, at Pine Manor Nursing Home in Columbus, GA. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, July 1, 2002, at Fort Benning Main Post Cemetery, with Dr. Glenn Martin officiating. Visitation will be this evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA. Mrs. Fowler was born January 20, 1924, in Pike County, AL, the daughter of the late Annie Mae Culpepper Austin and West Austin. She was a homemaker and a member of Wynnton United Methodist Church, VFW, American Legion and Red Cross. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Fowler. Survivors include four daughters: Trudy Queen (David) of Thomaston, GA, Judy Carelock (Ira) of Douglas, GA, Bobbie Jean Besse of Morgan City, LA and Darlene Morris of Baton Rouge, LA; a son, Cody Greek of Swainsboro, NC; four sisters, Margie Sandoval of Union City, TN, Lula Mae Cannon of Columbus, GA, Ethel Myers and Sue Candlaria, both of Union City, TN; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.6 |
