Research note While both Mary McPherson Culpepper and Elizabeth McPherson Fiske had a father named Daniel McPherson, it is not clear if Mary and Elizabeth were sisters or if each had a different set of parents. Marriage*circa 1777 She married Rev. Peter Culpepper of Camden Co., NC circa 1777. That Peter's wife Mary was a McPherson is based on the following:
     20 Aug 1788 -- Peter Culpepper of Currituck Co. agrees to drop suit against Demsey McPharson, executor of Daniel McPharson, deceased. Witnesses: _____ Spence and Gabriel Taylor (Camden Co. NC Deed Book D, p. 348). The Daniel McPherson estate should be examined.. 
Married Namecirca 1777  As of circa 1777, her married name was Culpepper. 
Deed*say 1790 Rev. Peter Culpepper of Camden Co., NC and Mary Culpepper granted a deed say 1790 at Currituck Co., North Carolina.
(Book 6, p. 72, Currituck Co., NC: (date?). Peter Culpepper and Mary Culpepper, his wife to Nathan Etheridge, 50 acres in the backwoods of Moyock District...).2 
1790 Census2 Aug 1790 Mary, Elizabeth, Sally and Dorothy was probably a free white female in Rev. Peter Culpepper of Camden Co., NC's household on the 1790 Census on 2 Aug 1790 at Currituck Co., North Carolina.3 
Deed14 Oct 1793 Rev. Peter Culpepper of Camden Co., NC and Mary Culpepper witnessed a deed grant by Henry Culpepper IV of Currituck Co. NC to Nicholas Culpepper of Camden Co., NC and with Thomas Edward Culpepper of Norfolk Co., VA as an adjacent landowner on 14 Oct 1793 at Currituck Co., North Carolina.
(Book 7, p. 58, Currituck Co., NC: 14 Oct 1793. Henry Culpepper, Sr., to Nicholas Culpepper, Jr., for £11, 50 acres adjacent to Thomas Culpepper, and David Creekmur. Witnesses: Peter Culpepper and Mary Culpepper).2 
Will20 Sep 1797 In Daniel McPherson's will on 20 Sep 1797 at Currituck Co., North Carolina, Mary, Mary and Elizabeth was named as an heir.
(Daniel McPherson will Curr. 20 Sept 1797. 4 Jan.1798 - Wife, Mary (All money due from the Parish for keeping Willoughby Etheridge). Sons: Robert, George, Asa. Daughters: Mary, Jacamine, Betsey Fisk. Witnesses: James Powers, Benjamin Linton, Edward Doughtry.). 
1800 Census4 Aug 1800 Mary was probably a free white female, age 26 and under 45, in Rev. Peter Culpepper of Camden Co., NC's household on the 1800 Census at Currituck Co., North Carolina. Enumerated in census but otherwise unidentified is 1 M10-16..4 
1810 Census6 Aug 1810 Mary was probably a free white female, age 45 or over, in Rev. Peter Culpepper of Camden Co., NC's household on the 1810 Census at Currituck Co., North Carolina. Enumerated in census but otherwise unidentified is 1 M16-26..5 
Death*12 Apr 1813 She died at Camden Co., North Carolina, on 12 Apr 1813.6 
Biography* Obituary:
     Died. In Camden, N. C. on Wednesday, Apr. 12, Mrs. Mary Culpepper, relict of Rev. Peter Culpepper in her 57th year. (Norfolk Herald, Norfolk, Va., 1813, p. 3, c. 3).7
