Death*5 Oct 1870 She died at Pleasant Grove District, Norfolk Co., Virginia, on 5 Oct 1870.2 
Biography* 2 Aug 1823 -- Peter Culpepper of Camden County to Mary J. Hickman of Norfolk County, VA, his granddaughter, 50 acres for love and affection. Witnesses: Peter OK. Culpepper, Wilson Bright.

Of Peter's sons, only Mason was old enough to have been Mary's father.

It is also possible that Mary was the daughter of Peter's daughter Elizabeth, and a Mr. Hickman. In other words, Hickman could have been her maiden name.
