| Biography* | BERTIE CULPEPPER CAREY, Mrs. (P) Chesapeake - Age 75, of 3241 Galberry Road, Deep Creek, died Tuesday night, in a Portsmouth ospital. Born in Norfolk County, she lived in Norfolk County and Chesapeake all her life. For many years, she was the dietitian of Deep Creek High School. She was a daughter of FREDERICK EDWARD and Mrs. MINNIE STEWART CULPEPPER and the wife of WINFIELD M. CAREY SR. She was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and its Ladies Bible Class. Besides her husband, she is survived by 3 sons, S.T. CAREY SR of Portsmouth, J.W. CAREY SR of Elizabeth City, NC and Winfield M. CAREY JR of Jacksonville, Fla; a daughter, Mrs. ALICE JOHNSON; a sister, Mrs. MINNIE C. CASTEEN, both of Chesapeake, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The body will be taken from Twiford Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, to Deep Creek Baptist Church for a funeral service Friday at 3 pm by the Rev ROSCOE A. MUSSELWHITE.
