Obituary*3 Sep 1999 FURRS - Charles Milton Culpepper, 73, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, at his home in the Furrs community after a long illness. He was a native of Pontotoc County and a longtime resident of Furrs. He was a retired truck driver and farmer, and a Baptist. He was a U S Army combat veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and raising cattle. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W E Pegues with the Rev Ron Richard officiating. Burial will be in the Black Zion Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Ophelia Dearman Culpepper of Furrs; one daughter, Teresa Cleland and her husband Daryl, of Colorado Springs, Colo; two sons, Roger Culpepper and his wife, Rose, of Colorado Springs, and Rodney Culpepper and his wife Sammie of Tupelo; three sisters, Mary Collins of Okolona, Ruby Gregory of Smithville and Elsie Gregory of Bruce; two brothers, Bob Culpepper of Okolona and Bill Culpepper of Hatley; four grandchildren, Steven Culpepper, Josh Culpepper, Matthew Cleland and Brandon Cleland.

He was preceeded in death by a sister, Earline Russell; a brother, James David Culpepper, Jr. and a grandson, Brian Culpepper. Pallbearers will be Harry Culpepper, Robert Culpepper, Steve Culpepper, W H Gregory, Johnny Russell and Jimmy Collins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Amos Raper, Dexter Calloway and Donald Duffie. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.3
