DNA* From DNA and genealogical evidence we conclude that Uhland Napoleon Culpepper is a descendant of Henry Culpepper of Chattahoochee Co., GA, and that Henry is a grandson of James Culpepper of Nash and 2-great-grandson of Henry Culpepper of Lower Norfolk, VA. 
Birth*Dec 1883 Uhland was born at Alabama in Dec 1883. 
 He was the son of Martin Van Buren Culpepper and Lucy A. M. R. Stephens
Marriage*circa 1904 He married Irene England at Russell Co., Alabama, circa 1904.2 
1910 Census*15 Apr 1910 Uhland was listed as a boarder living with an unknown person 's household on the 1910 Census at Elmore Co., Alabama.2 
Note*Sep 1914 Uhland was charged and convicted of the murder of a young girl who was accidentally shot as Uhland fired a rifle towards her father who was sitting on the back porch of his residence.

Sentenced to life in prison, Uhland was enumerated in the Alabama State Prison in the 1910 census. In 1918, he was registered for the WW-I draft while an inmate in the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary.

He appears to have relocated to Connecticut upon his release from prison in the early 1920s.3
