     Joseph Culpepper. Will dated 15 Jan 1816, probated 6 May 1816, recorded pp. 60-61. "Being on the bed of affliction but in perfect reason & Memory Calling to Mind that all men must die... I give to my son, Simeon Culpepper my young horse & to my Son Henry Culpepper my Rifle Gun Exclusive to there part with the Balance of my Children except my dau. Sally Culpepper which I give $100 Exclusive of an equal part with my other Legatees. I give my Beloved wife Nancy Culpepper after my just debts are paid all the remainder of my estate together with all my lands houses & household furniture with Stock of all kinds during her Lifetime or Widowhood & at her death to be equally divided betwixt my Children except what is here to fore Delineated. But if my Wife Nancy Should think proper to marry again I then give her an equal part with my children - I likewise constitute & ordain with my Wife Nancy Culpepper my Son Simeon Culpepper & Ambrous Yarbrough my whole & Sole Executors..."

The final account of James Rainer administrator of the estate of Simeon Culpepper deceased having been filed and probated at the December term 1854 at this court, and the same having been continued for want of knowing the heirs of said estate and the said administrator having appeared by his attorney and filed a list of heirs of said estate. It was ordered by the court that his account be set for hearing at the April term next of this court. And it is ordered by this court that citations issue to Sampson, Joseph, Owen, Betty, and John Culpepper. And that said administrator put up notice at the court house door and in three public places in the county six weeks previous to final settlement, notifying Ira Bucklaloo, Enock Buckaloo, J. Willis and Laurena his wife notifying them to appear at the April term next of this court and show cause if any why said account should not be allowed. [Ruth Cohlmia notes that she has done extensive research on Buckaloo / Buckalew, etc. and that no evidence of an Enock Buckaloo has been found. She also notes that Betty, above, appears to be the widow Elizabeth.]

James B. Rainer administrator of the estate of Simeon Culpepper deceased filed and presented a final account. Ordered citations to Jasper County to Elizabeth Culpepper and H. A. [H. P.] Culpepper, John Culpepper, Joseph Culpepper, J. A. [James T.] Willis and L. A. [Laurena A.] Willis, and to Lauderdale County to William Culpepper, Owen Culpepper, and Ira Buckalew notifying them of the presentation of said final account. Marked over paid, under this J R, under this 24th August 1856.
