Tom Culpepper devotes his practice exclusively to the representation of professionals in malpractice and errors and omissions claims. He has resolved hundreds of professional liability cases, and tries several professional liability cases each year.
Tom represents: attorneys, insurance agents, real estate brokers, accountants, officers and directors and other professionals in federal and state courts. He also handles grievance proceedings before the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Real Estate Commission and the Texas Department of Insurance.
Tom assists clients in navigating potential claims and has testified before the Texas House and Senate in support of legislation to address the inequities insurance professionals face when confronted with a professional liability lawsuit.
Representative Experience
Obtained defense verdict for an insurance agency in a two-week trial brought by a homeowner seeking millions of dollars on a misrepresentation claim involving a substantially underinsured historic home.
Obtained summary judgment for Dallas law firm on a legal malpractice claim in which plaintiffs claimed the law firm mishandled a child custody case.
Obtained summary judgment on behalf of large independent insurance agency on a multi-million dollar misrepresentation and fraud claim involving business interruption insurance.
Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a bonding agent on a school construction project. Plaintiff contended bonding agent misrepresented it would obtain performance bonds.
Obtained defense verdict in a multi-million dollar legal malpractice case in which plaintiff contended law firm pursued frivolous claims. In the same case, obtained a judgment in favor of Dallas law firm on its fee claim.
