1930 Census*1 Apr 1930 Katie was listed as the head of a family on the 1930 Census at Atlanta, Fulton Co., Georgia.5

Biography* According to p 182 of First Families of Henry County, Georgia compiled by The Genealogical Society of Henry and Clayton Co., GA and edited by Joseph Henry Hightower Moore, Katie and Ernest were supposed to have had three children, two boys that died within a year of birth and one girl that survived. The difficulty with this is that there were three little boys listed in the household in the 1900 Spalding Co., GA census: Ernest Jr. Nov 1894 GA; Fletcher Jan 1896 GA; and Maxley Oct 1897 GA. The dates roughly fit Ethel Maude, Fletcher Gray, and Benjamin Franklin Culpepper, children of Amos Fletcher Culpepper, a brother of Ernest. Perhaps they were visiting when the census was taken and were noted in a garbled way with Ernest and Katie.
