Biography*  In the 1900 census of Lavaca Co., TX, Margaret was listed as having been born Feb 1841 in Mississippi. She was also listed as having been born in Mississippi in the 1870 and 1880 census records and on the "Delayed Birth Certificate" for her youngest child, Margaret Hall Culpepper, which Mrs. Travis (Jacqueline Lorenz) McClinton referenced in a 10 Jul 1989 letter. Only in the 1860 census was Margaret Harbour's place of birth given as Georgia.
      The following Marriage Record is from p. 5 of Marriage Book B (2) 1859-1868: State of Texas_____To any regular ordained minister County of Lavaca___of the Gospel, Judge of the District Court, Chief Justice of the County, Or Any Active Justice of the peace in & for said county, you or either of you are hereby authorized to Solemnise the rites of matrimony between James L Culpepper and Miss Margaret Habour [sic], Join them together in the holy bonds of matrimony and for so doing this shall be your warrant and due Return of this license make to this office within sixty days showing how you shall have executed same. In testimony whereof I have here unto Set my hand and official Seal at office in Halletsville [sic] this 16th of January 1860.       Margaret was noted with her husband in Lavaca Co., TX census records from 1860 through 1900. On the "Delayed Birth Certificate" of Margaret Hall Culpepper, her mother, Margaret Harbour was listed as having had 15 children only 6 of whom were still living in 1886 yet all of her children were still living at the time. After the 1900 census, Margaret and her husband apparently moved to Wilson Co., TX where they remained the rest of their lives. The Texas Death Index lists (#21409) "Culpepper, Margret [sic]" Wilson Co., TX "4-14-31."
