| Biography* | | The following is from Aimee Rowden, Atlanta, GA, 8 Feb 2000: "I spoke with my grandmother last night (Sadie Raines Stripling Kenyon) and found out that Adelia was her grandmother, and my great great grandmother. She also told me that Terrell, Adelia's first husband, had a brother Needham Walter who married Lula Culpepper. I also found it interesting that a man named Benjamin Marion Herrington married three of the Culpepper sisters! My Nana said that they used to joke that he killed the first two, and then Adelia finally killed him! But seriously, I guess dying of stroke was prevalent in the Culpepper women I was told. So there are also a few Herrington's that are half siblings of my great grandmother Ethel Raines. Adelia raised a few of her nieces and nephews (Herrington/Culpepper) when her sisters died (Sarah, and Davie). |
