Biography* Rev. George Bright Culpepper wrote on p. 7 of "ONE FAMILY - CULPEPPER" a 25 page typed manuscript completed 8 Oct 1942: In Macon, Georgia, in June 1886, I think, a daughter was born to Fayette and Jennie Culpepper. She was named Lucy Kate, for her grandmother Culpepper and an Aunt Catherine Brooks....
Mrs. M. R. (Patricia Williams) Ortega wrote of her grandmother, Mrs. B. M. (Lucy Kate Culpepper) Angwin, 3 Mar 1991: The person Grandmother referred to as Aunt net was truly an aunt. I believe she was the sister of Elizabeth J. Brooks. Grandmother said her Mother (the first Mrs. August Culpepper) died when Grandmother was three years old. August Culpepper could not raise a little girl alone and Aunt Net raised Grandmother. Virgil Culpepper was Grandmothers half brother. The second Mrs. August Culpepper must have died rather early also. Grandmother married B. M. Angwin and they finished raising Virgil.
