Biography* Eliza Jane was known as "Sissy." Mrs. R. (Joyce Culpepper) wrote 28 Jul 1978: Aunt Sissie and Uncle Jim lived for many years and brought up their family in Falls City, Texas.... After Uncle Jim died Aunt Sissie came to live with Cousin Alice here in San Antonio. She was an invalid by that time.
Joyce listed Eliza's date of birth as 30 Jan 1861 from the tombstone, Mrs. Travis (Jacqueline Lorenz) McClinton listed the date of birth as "1-3-1861" on the Shadrack Guthrie descendant list. Culpepper Heritage Association records list the name as "Eliza J. S." Could the S be a reference to the nickname Sissy?
