He was a retired carpenter from the Naval Shipyard. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Surviving are three daughters Mrs. Ethel C Davis of Mob jack, Mrs. Essie N. Bridges, of Portsmouth and Mrs. Kenneth Edens, of To co a, Ga; one son, Joseph W. Culpepper, ofPortsmOtrth, two sisters, Mrs. Mary jjuntmg, of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Maggie James, of Mob jack, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body was taken to Brennan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at lOa. m. at St. Teresa Catholic Church. Rosary services will be conducted at the funeral home Wednesday at 8 p. m. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
