Biography* Dr. Charles L. Culpepper, Sr. listed Sarah's date of birth as "Aug. 28th 1867" in the GENEALOGY OF FRANCIS G. GILLESPIE but as "August 18, 1867" in a later list. The Culpepper Heritage Association also listed the birth date as 18 Aug 1867 but the 1900 census listed Oct 1867. Sarah was listed as "Ellen" in 1870 but as "Ella" in the 1900 census. Since her daughter appears to have been named Ella this was probably Sarah's middle name. By the 1910 census, the family had moved to Eastland Co., TX and a 43 year old "Sarah E." was listed (ED 39-68) with her husband and two children.
