Biography* The following funeral notice is from an unknown source circa 25 Jun 1961: Final Rites for Mrs. Culpepper In Lone Oak Mrs. Charles S. Culpepper, 80, well-known Meriwether County woman, died at the Newnan Hospital, Thursday, June 23 [read 22], following a short illness. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Allen-Lee Memorial Methodist Church in Lone Oak. Rev. Gilbert Steadham, of Chatsworth, a former paster, officiated, and was assisted by the pastor, Rev. Charles S. Meath of Gay. Pallbearers were Roswell Lee, William P. Lee, Jr., Bill Lowry, D. R. Nall, Jr., Marshall Willingham, Ralph Parham. Mrs. Culpepper had made her home at Lone Oak for the past 58 years. She was a native of Fayetteville, and had been an active member of the Allen-Lee Memorial Methodist Church for the past 58 years. She was the daughter of the late Quitman Landrum and Ector Speer Landrum, members of Fayette County families. She is survived by four daughters, Miss Lydia Culpepper of Lone Oak, Mrs. Sherman Martin and Mrs. Norris Williams, of Warner Robins, Mrs. Edward Goggans of Riverview, Ala., five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. G. B. Smith of Cordele. Claude A. McKibben Funeral Home was in charge.
