Biography* He was known as "Slim." Mrs. Eleanor Culpepper Willingham wrote that "he was quite a character ran away and joined the Navy at age 16." And apparently Slim survived for a short time after his last crash: James was brought home and hospitalized in Newnan. Came to the home but had to be carried back & died in Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
