Biography* Obituary:
Mrs. Mary A. Sinclair died near Tifton on the night of the 18th inst., aged about 71 years. Mrs. Sinclair lived for several years near Red Oak church, in Worth, while the county was in its infancy, but about the beginning of the war moved with her husband, Dr. Sinclair, to Irwin. There the husband and companion of her youth was stricken down by the angel of death, and she was left during the trying days of reconstruction to battle with the world alone, with a number of little children dependent on her for their food and education. But undaunted and bravely she took up the burden of duty, and how well it was borne the large concourse of her descendants who gathered around her funeral bier to pay the last sad tribute to the parent who had filled the place of both tfather and mother to them testifies.

She was for over thirty years a member of the Missionary Baptist church, and through the toil and trials of middle life was strengthened and consoled by an abiding faith in Him who doeth all things well. In her declining years this belief in Christ was her chief solace, and the journey down through the valley of the shadow of death was made one of joy and hope through the glorious, promise of a meeting with the Savior and dear.2
