Biography* The following obituary appeared in The Atlanta Journal WEEKEND on 19 Oct 1985: Harvey C. Cutts, 85, school superintendent in Greenville 25 years PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Veteran Georgia educator Harvey C. Cutts of Greenville, Ga., died Thursday at his daughter's home here. He was 85. The graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Greenville City Cemetery. For 25 years, Mr. Cutts was the school superintendent in Greenville. During the 1950s he served a term as president of the Georgia Education Association. Harvey Clark Cutts was born Sept. 26,1900, in Marshallville, Ga. He was a graduate of Mercer University and earned a master's degree at the University of Georgia. In his family, Mr. Cutts was the last member of a well-known generation of Georgia ministers and educators. Four of his brothers as well as his father were Baptist ministers and served churches throughout Georgia and in surrounding states. Mr. Cutts was a director of the Greenville Banking Co. and was the holder of the Silver Beaver Award for his service to the Boy Scouts of America. He taught a Bible class for many years at the Greenville Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Pairo Cutts of Greenville, formerly of Atlanta; a daughter, Mrs. Caroline Jones of Pensacola; and three grandchildren.
