WWI Draft Reg*12 Sep 1918 Carl registered for the WW-I draft, naming William Jehu Culpepper as his nearest relative, on 12 Sep 1918 at Sulphur Springs, Hopkins Co., Texas.1 
Marriage*1918 He married Lois Johnson at Texas in 1918. 
1930 Census*1 Apr 1930 Carl was listed as the head of a family on the 1930 Census at Limestone Co., Texas.3 
Death*31 Oct 1945 He died at Fort Bend Co., Texas, on 31 Oct 1945.4

Biography* Carl Shepard was the son of William Jehu and Emily Julia Ann Josephine (East) Culpepper. In the mid-1890's, his parents moved the family from Arkansas to Hopkins Co., TX and this is where Carl was born and where he was noted with his parents in 1900 and 1910 census records. Carl married Lois Johnson and they settled down to raise their family in Texas. He died in 1945 at the age of 46.
