| Biography* | Mabel Culpepper Davis, 100, of the 100 block of Sandpiper Drive, a homemaker, died Dec. 22, 1992, in a Suffolk nursing home. Mrs. Davis was born in Portsmouth and was the widow of John C. Davis. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the Missionary Circle and the Maude Bailey Sunday School Class and Order of the Eastern Star, Tidal Wave Chapter. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette D. Sword and Howard Sword of Blacksburg, Va; a granddaughter, Mary Kendall Sword Cumings of Stone Mountain, Ga; and a great-granddaughter, Catherine Jeanette Cumings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dicie Bell Culpepper and Alexander Culpepper. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Philip J. Parker. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
