Biography* Alice was the daughter of John Francis and Florence M. (Johnson) Culpepper. Although she was born in Texas, her parents moved to Pine Bluff, AR while she was still an infant and this is where she would have spent her childhood and where she was noted with her parents in 1900 census records. In 1906, she married Oscal G. Poss and they settled down to raise a family in Pine Bluff. A nephew, Hugo H. Culpepper wrote2 that Alice "and her family moved from Pine Bluff, Ark., back in the 1930's...." The family appears to have resettled in Shreveport, LA where Alice died in 1970 at the age of 81.
