Biography* Asa first appears in Norfolk County Personal Property Tax Lists in 1805.

He was apparently a shoemaker, as he inherited his father Daniel's shoemaking tools in 1811.

In Jul 1813, Asa bought 16 acres from Enoch Daley and wife Mary, for $50. Since he named a son Enoch, this may have been his wife's parents. The land was adjacent to the heirs of William Harper, the heirs of Willoughby Creekmur, and the heirs of Joshua Creekmur. Witnesses were Daniel Foreman, Stephen Creekmur, and John Daley (Norfolk Co VA Deed Bk 46, p.96).

In September 1824, Asa "of St. Brides Parish" gave various bequests to his two children, Enoch and Betsey, "for good will and affection." He gave all his land to Enoch (Deed Bk. 51, p.353).

In February 1825, Asa and wife Rebecca sold a tract of land to John Daily for $30. The land had belonged to Frederick Daily, deceased, an orphan of Enoch Daily, deceased (Deed Bk 52, p.267). Asa may have died soon thereafter, as he is not on the 1830 census in Norfolk County.
