SMITHS, AL— James Robert Culpepper, age 50, resident of Smiths, AL., died on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at his residence. Memorial Services will be held at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Phenix City, AL., on Saturday, June 2, 2007, 7 PM. with Steve Dumas officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 6 -7 PM. Mr. Culpepper, son of Charlie W. Culpepper and the late Jean P. Culpepper, was born February 5, 1957 at Fort Benning, GA. He was a faithful employee for over 20 years for Joe Ryan Enterprises. Besides his mother, Mr. Culpepper was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Hendley and a brother, Robert S. Hendley, Jr. He is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Pierce of Smiths, AL; his fathers, Charlie W. Culpepper of Columbus and Robert S. Hendley, Sr. of Bowling Green, FL; two sisters, Regena C. Bowden and her husband James of Phenix City, AL., and Kathleen Dimock of Bowling Green, FL; two brothers, Mark Culpepper and his wife Dee of Columbus, and Greg Culpepper and his wife Tracy of Phenix City, AL; two grandchildren, Jaleigh Pierce and Lauren Grace Jeanette Pierce, both of Smiths, AL; other relatives and friends.
