Obituary*28 Jun 2008 Services for Mary Louise Culpepper, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Mayfield of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Culpepper died June 25, 2008, in a Tyler hospital.

Mary Louise Culpepper was born August 18, 1926, in Crossett, Arkansas, to Kirby and Lucille Spencer Forester. She graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1944. She was an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone. She married James Morgan Culpepper Jr. on April 13, 1946, in Pine Bluff and moved to Houston, Texas, in 1956. They moved to Martinsville, Texas in 1969 where they owned and operated the Texaco station for many years. They retired to Tyler in 1989.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bobby Forester.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James M. Culpepper Jr; two daughters and sons-in-law, JoBeth and Chris R. McCurry and Sue and Ken Horchem, all of Tyler. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Trevor K. McCurry, Sam McCurry and Kim Horchem, all of Tyler. She is survived by two sisters, Helen McAlister of Little Rock, Ark., and Joan Turley of Shreveport, La. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she loved attending Sunday school, circle meetings, and JOY Club. She was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking for family and friends and gardening. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Stewart Family Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jim Rice, Scott Hall, Alan Johnston, Lloyd Wessels, Ken Horchem and Chris R. McCurry. Memorial donations in honor of Mary Louise Culpepper can be made to Trinity Baptist South Texas Missions or the charity of your choice. Stewart Family Funeral Home, Tyler.1
