Biography* Obituary:
SHREVEPORT, LA - Dorothy Bazer passed on to be with her Lord, Sunday, October 24, 2004 in Shreveport, LA. As a wife, mother and friend she cared, prayed and served others well for her first seventy years, but in the past five years Parkinson's had steadily diminished her opportunities and strength.

Funeral services remembering her life and celebrating her homegoing will be held at First Baptist Church of Shreveport, Frost Chapel, Thursday, October 28, 2004 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Reverend Nick Davis, associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Shreveport. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath's Southside Funeral Home, Wednesday, October 27, 2004 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at First Baptist Church of Shreveport, Thursday, October 28, 2004 from 10 a.m. until the services begin.

Dorothy was born September 19, 1929 in Paris, TN. She worked as a medical clerk and secretary and retired as an accounting clerk with Swepco, Inc., in 1986. Dorothy was a leader in local and area missions. Through the years she taught in Sunday School and in special studies. For several years Dorothy coordinated the Hospitality House Program in our area, where college students from other countries could be entertained during the school breaks. They came here from different colleges throughout the nation. This built relationships and good will as they shared the Christmas and New Year Holidays together and with a host of families.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother, Robbie Taylor Culpepper and brother, Paul Culpepper.

She is survived by her beloved husband of over fifty-eight years, Bryan Bazer; daughter, Betty Barron and husband, Bruce, Marilyn Tauzin, Robbie Courts and husband, Col. Michael Courts; sons, Dr. Larry Bazer and wife, Gayle, Jeffrey Bazer and wife, Alene, Jon Bazer and wife, Paula; father, Dudley Culpepper, Sr. and wife, Rose; brothers, Dudley Culpepper, Jr., Eugene Culpepper, Jerry Culpepper, Don Culpepper; sisters, Gloria Phillips, Marion Ray, Carolyn Bucy, Peggy Genuso, Wanda Walker, Martha Hester, Vickie Stumph, Debbie Skinner; grandchildren, Larissa Galloway, Stephanie Triplett, Amanda Leathers, Clint Barron, Kelli Caraway, Ben Courts, Samantha Courts, David Bazer, Jamie Bazer, Tim Bazer; great-grandchildren, Garrett Galloway, Grace Galloway, Emma Leathers, Ansley Leathers; countless nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends; all of whom adored her.
