Savannah "Miss Susannah" Powers Etheridge [was the] dau. of Aunt Tince Culpepper Powers. .... Miss S. lived across the road from my grandmother. Mrs. Johnston and Miss S. would come over and argue with grandma about family gen. I listened to many stories and some heated disagreements. Think that was what sparked my interest. To
this day I do not know why I didn't ask grandma who her grandmother, Rebecca's parents were or who Elizabeth Powers parents were. Elizabeth lived with W.L. and grandma knew her. Elizabeth died from Bright's disease in grandma's house.
