Biography* Green's ancestry has not been determined, but the name of Walter Murphy, who presumably is his half brother in the 1880 census, provides a clue that Green's mother had probably been married to a Mr. Murphy prior to marrying the unknown Mr. Culpepper, who apparently died aft. 1864 and bef. 1880.
