Biography* Riverside. Services for Finley Isaiah Culpepper Sr., 83, will be at 10
a.m. Thursday at Tillman Riverside Mortuary. He died of heart disease
Friday at Palm Terrace Care Center in Riverside. Friends may call at the mortuary from 1 until 7 p.m. today. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Covina Memorial Park. Mr. Culpepper , who was born in Mobile, Ala., lived in Riverside and Fontana 80 years. He owned Culpepper Haven Nursery, a care facility for disabled children, in Fontana for about 20 years before he retired in 1977. Previously he worked for the Riverside Parks Department in the 1950s. He also served in the California Conservation Corps. Mr. Culpepper was a member of Kansas Avenue Seventh-day Adventist Church in Riverside. He graduated from Riverside Poly High School in 1936 and from Riverside City College in 1938. Mr. Culpepper is survived
by two sons, Finley Jr. of Moreno Valley and Norman of Riverside; 13
grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. (10/11/2000, The

"I am not sure about the place of birth for Finley [listed in his obit]. My family used to say they were from Mobile, because no one had ever heard of Lower Peach Tree back then....
.
"Finley was born about 1917, and by then, Daniel and John Culpepper both were living in Riverside, CA, and had been for years...."
