| Marriage* | 1903 | He married Mary E. Jones at Norfolk Co., Virginia, in 1903. From Steve Pearsall, Pearscp@aol.com, Sep 2002:
A daughter of William Prentice Pearsall and Iona Culpepper named Virginia Pearsall, born 14 Mar 1924 in Bennettsville, SC, provided the information regarding J. E. Culpepper and wife Lyda Cherry. This info was provided by her on 7 Oct 1977. It is quite possible that J. E. Culpepper married more than once. I can only relate what Virginia Pearsall McCready provided. According to Virginia, Iona Culpepper was born 1 Jan 1901 in Portsmouth, VA. This is in conflict with Iona's NC death record which shows date of birth as 1 Jan 1907. The Social Security Death Index reflects dob as 2 Jan 1907.. |
