| Biography* | O.s.p. He was baptised in Loose, August 30, 1724, as 'John the son of Denny Martin, gent. and Frances his wife.' His, death is not recorded in the Loose register, nor on the family ML. He seems to have begun a career in the Royal Navy. Mr. Wykeham-Martin says that he died at Portsmouth, unmarried, in his twenty-second year; certainly, he is not referred to in the later family documents.
