Upon the East branch of the Elizabeth River on the South side, eginning at a creek on the West end of the said Neck, bounded up the River East Northly, down the River West Southly, into the woods South Eastly, distant about seven miles from the outh of the Creek. For the transport of five persons. The only name appearing under this records is Vincent Coronell. Note: Renewed in the name of john Godfry & 50 acres added, 22 July 1645. Testator: Samuel Abbott, Clerk (Cavaliers & Pioneers, Vol. I, p. 72).

On the South branch of the Elizabeth River, up a Creek on the East side of the river &c. 50 acres due for the per. adv. of his son Richard Yates & 50 acres for the transport of one servant: John Merriday. Note: Renewed 20 Feb. 1643 & 150 acres added.

John Godfrey, 300 acres in Lower Norfolk County, July 22, 1645, Page 29. On the South side of the Eastward branch of the Elizabeth River, adjacent to the land of Richard White, and Henry Nicholas. Due as followeth: 250 acres granted to John Yates, June 6, 1637, & by him sold to John Moores (or Meeres) & purchased by the said Godfrey of Nicholas Scuefeild, Attorney of the said Moores, & 50 acres for the transport of John Farrarhoe (Cavaliers & Pioneers, Vol. I, p. 157).
