DNA* From DNA and genealogical evidence we conclude that Harvey Edwin Culpepper is a descendant of Stephen Josephius Culpepper who is thought to be a son of Lemuel Culpepper of Jasper Co., GA. DNA suggests Lemuel descends (father unknown) from Benjamin Culpepper of Edgecombe Co., NC.

A graduate of Ruston High School, he attended Ouachita Baptist College and served three years in the Air Force at Edwards Air Force Base, California where he played football for the Air Force.
     Survivors include his wife, two sons John and Harvey Jr., and one daughter Cindy all of Mojave, California; parents Mr. And Mrs. H. C. Culpepper, Ruston, one brother Wayne Culpepper, Calhoun; four sisters, Mrs. Dorris Frazier, Dubach, Mrs. Velma Johnson, Ruston, Mrs. Nelda Dunman, North Zulch, Texas, Mrs. Barbara Gayle Hogg, Ruston.5
