James Charles Culpepper Sr., 66, of the first block of Hillside Drive,
and formerly of Norfolk, died May 25, 1993, in a Lowell hospital. Mr.
Culpepper, a native of Norfolk, was the son of the late George Mc. and Rosa Collins Culpepper. He was a retired plumber with Staples Plumbing in Lowell. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Butler Culpepper; four daughters, Brenda Holley of New Jersey, Gloria Culpepper of Lowell, Diana Dupuis of Tyngsboro and Darlene Culpepper of Dracut; one son, James C. Culpepper Jr. of Dracut; one sister, Georgia Lee Webster of Norfolk; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Mae Hipple Babin. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, Portsmouth. Burial will be in the Culpepper Family Cemetery off Gilmerton Road. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening. (28 May 1993, The Virginian-Pilot.).
